WHY WOULD YOU WANT A CATTED DOWNPIPE?
Great Question! There are multiple reasons why you would want a catted downpipe for your VW/Audi versus a catless downpipe system.

• PASSING EMISSIONS: One of the biggest benefits of a catted downpipe is it increases your chances of passing emissions.* The catalytic converter in the ARM 2.0T catted downpipe is significantly less restrictive than the OEM catalytic converter, allowing it to increase the power of your 2.0T while still going to work on burning up those exhaust gases that don’t get along with the environment and the EPA.
• NO FOUL SMELLS: The catted downpipe destroys most of the elements in the exhaust gas commonly associated with catless downpipes which produce strong exhaust fumes. If you’ve owned a vehicle with a catless exhaust you likely know the odor associated with a catless downpipe. The ARM 2.0T catted downpipe eliminates many of the noxious fumes that the engine produces before sending it out the exhaust.
• EXHAUST SOUND: Many enthusiasts prefer the sound of a catted downpipe over the standard catless downpipe as it gives the exhaust note a deep tone. Having the catalytic converter in your 2.0T downpipe reduces some of the high-pitch rasp commonly associated with catless systems. It almost acts similar to a resonator in the way it affects the acoustics of the exhaust note, but still giving it a deep rumble.

CONSTRUCTION
The ARM 2.0T TSi catted downpipe features a full 3″ stainless steel construction with smooth bends for improved exhaust flow. The upper section of the downpipe has a CNC machined flange that mates to the turbo and includes a flex joint to relieve stress and make installation easier. The downpipe to Catback section is where the 200 cell sport catalytic converter is placed. The ARM catted downpipe kit is designed to fit BPY, CBFA and CCTA applications, so you can make sure that no matter which version of the 2.0T you have the ARM downpipe will accommodate your VW/Audi.

BOLTS UP TO STOCK OR AFTERMARKET CATBACK EXHAUST
The ARM 2.0T catted downpipe will fit the existing OEM cat-back exhaust or any aftermarket exhaust that connects the OEM downpipe. The ARM downpipe kit includes a 3″ to 2.25″ reducer to allow it to mate up perfectly to the stock exhaust system. Or opt to connect to a 3″ aftermarket exhaust system for a full 3″ turbo-back setup.
